Gets the certificates of the signer, each DER-encoded: the signing certificate first, then the certificates of its issuers.

Remarks

The signing certificate is the one whose private key produces the signature. The issuer certificates are embedded in the signature so a reader can build the chain to a trusted root; they are optional, but most validators need them.
